According to the Karnataka exit polls conducted by India Today-Axis My India, the Congress party is likely to get a clear majority, defeating the ruling BJP, it also suggests that Modi Magic failed to woo voters of Karnataka. While Axis My India is the only pollster predicting a clear majority for the Congress, all other exit polls have projected an edge for Congress. Axis My India Polls have a track record of predicting the result absolutely spot on.

Barring the coastal region, the Congress is ahead of the BJP in all regions such as Bengaluru, central Karnataka, Hyderabad-Karnataka, Mumbai-Karnataka, and Old Mysuru. Coastal Karnataka is the only region where the BJP is ahead of the Congress. In Bengaluru, the BJP is likely to win just 10 of 28 seats. The region where the party is likely to suffer the most is Hyderabad-Karnataka, where it is expected to win just 7 of 40 seats.

Axis My India predicts that Congress may bag 122-140 seats with 43% votes, while the saffron party may settle with 62-80 seats with 35% votes. JD(S) is likely to win 20-25 seats, less than what the party had received in 2018.

Karnataka Congress Chief DK Shivakumar has expressed confidence that the party will cross 146 seats. Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa said he was confident that his party would form the government with an absolute majority, while Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said he was very much confident that the BJP will come back to power with an absolute majority.

The actual results of the elections will be announced on May 13, and it remains to be seen which party will emerge victorious in the state.
