Landfall of Cyclone ‘Yass’ between Bhitarkanika & Balasore

Cyclone Yaas is likely to hit tomorrow morning on 26th May around Dhamra a few kilometers North. The State Reorganisation Commission (SRC) has alerted district authorities of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur to prepare for landfall anywhere between Bhitarkanika and Balasore and continue evacuation in full swing.

SRC further stated that the administration of the districts that are likely to come under the direct impact of Cyclone Yaas have fortified all hospitals with additional strengthening of doors and windows. PW department ensuring all such facilities while the Health department taking care of uninterrupted services to patients.

The districts of Sundargarh, Angul and Deogarh will also record heavy rainfall at a few places on May 26. The districts en route to the West Side of Cyclone Yaas are going to witness the maximum impact. While the post-landfall, cyclone Yaas will enter Jharkhand after the midnight hours of May 26.
