Government has issued guidelines for September as corona infections are declining. Meanwhile, the Lingaraj Temple is open to the public from today. Visitors will be allowed to follow the Covid guidelines. Hundreds of devotees are allowed to enter the temple at one time.
However, the BMC on Friday issued new guidelines to open the Lingaraj Temple from September 1. The guidelines have been issued in view of Covid 19 situation. Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple only if they are vaccinated with two doses of vaccine. The vaccine certificate will allow devotees to enter the temple. The shrine will be closed and 100 devotees will be allowed to visit at once. Restrictions have been imposed on the visiting of devotees. Masks and social distances are mandatory. BMC has imposed restrictions on the entry of elderly pregnant women and devotees under the age of 18. Similarly, no offering to the Lord shall be accepted by the Sebayatas, the BMC said.
