More than 5 crore penalty collected in one month for violating COVID norms

A total of Rs5, 66, 65,000 fine have been collected for the violation of mask rule and social distancing in the month of April informed Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay to media. As many as 350 business establishments and other institutes have been sealed for defying the Covid protocols.

Similarly, 418 persons were arrested for breaking the rules while over 18,000 vehicles were seized during the period. Over Rs 7 crore was collected from the owners of the vehicles.

Moreover, around 1300 excise cases registered this month.

“I urge people to follow Covid protocols and obey the guidelines implemented by the government like night curfew and weekend shut down. The police force becomes harsh for the safety of people, state and country,” DGP said.
