NEET PG 2021 Postponed, MBBS Final Year Students To be deployed on COVID duty

In a major decision, the government has decided to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance test for post-graduate students (NEET-PG).

According to official sources, the NEET PG exams have been postponed for at least four months and will not be held before August 31.

The decision was taken after a review of the COVID situation in the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

The Prime Minister’s Office has said the postponed will make a large number of qualified doctors available for COVID duties.

As per the announcement, individuals who complete 100 days of COVID duty would be given priority in the upcoming regular Government recruitments.

Medical inters would be deployed for COVID management duties under the active supervision of their faculty.

The government declaration also mentioned that B.Sc or GNM qualified nurses may be utilized in full-time COlVID nursing duties under the supervision of senior doctors and nurses.

Those providing services in COVID management will be given priority in forthcoming regular government recruitments after they complete a minimum of 100 days of duty, the PMO informed.

The medical students and professionals who will be engaged in COVID-related work would be suitably vaccinated.
