Pick & Drop vaccination and Doorstep testing for senior citizens

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to introduce new services for COVID-19 testing and vaccination of senior citizens. For the senior citizens who are staying alone and cannot travel, doorstep testing services with be provided said civic body.

Similarly, for vaccination, pick and drop facilities will be provided by the civic body to senior citizens facing difficulties in visiting vaccination centres.

In the statement, BMC Commissioner, Sanjay Singh said, “We are observing people above 60 years, the senior citizens, are facing difficulties in visiting the COVID 19 testing centres. They are not being able to visit the testing centres. Particularly, the senior citizens whose children are not staying with them and they are alone and cannot drive are facing problems.”

The senior citizens above the age of 60 who are not being able to go to the testing centres or for vaccination, due to any reasons, can call 1929 helpline and register their location and address.

This doorstep COVID-19 testing and pick and drop facility for senior citizens will be available from Monday.
