PM Modi to visit Odisha for aerial survey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today, May 28 to review the impact of Cyclone Yaas. PM will land in Bhubaneswar after which he will hold a review meeting in the capital city. He will then conduct an aerial survey in the affected areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, Purba Medinipur in West Bengal, sources said.

PM Modi chaired a meeting to review the impact of Cyclone Yaas on Thursday where a detailed presentation was made on various aspects of preparedness, assessment of damages and related matters by the officials during the meeting. The discussion was held on the execution of disaster management activities in the states.

As per reports, at least 106 NDRF teams were reportedly deployed with 46 teams each in West Bengal and Odisha. These rescue teams rescued more than 1,000 persons and removed more than 2500 trees or poles that fell and obstructed the roads.

Earlier, CM Patnaik conducted an aerial survey of the cyclone Yaas-hit of the state.
