The state government has loosened its September guidelines in view of the declining corona infection rate. According to the guidelines, weekly shutdowns have been lifted in the state. But the Puri Lord Jagannath Temple will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays as before. The temple will also be closed for Ganesh Puja on the 10th of this month. The district administration has imposed a curfew to control the crowds at the temple. The Puri district administration has issued the information.
According to the new guidelines, the weekly shutdown has been lifted, while night curfew only continues in the municipality from 10pm to 5am. Theatres, shopping mall, will be open with full capacity. As many as 250 people can attend the wedding procession.
However, the ban on fairs, festivals and exhibitions will continue in September. Ganesha Puja, Vishwakarma Puja and Nuakhai festivals are ahead. So the observation will be according to special instructions. The organizers will abide by the guidelines issued on August 9. In addition, the SRC has reiterated its commitment to comply with Corona’s general rules. The new guidelines will remain in force until October 1. The state government will then announce the October guidelines depending on the situation.
