Railway, Banking, Forest Personnel and other categories declared frontline workers for vaccination

Odisha Government includes additional categories of staff as frontline workers for COVID vaccination. Decision taken in the State Steering Committee meeting chaired by Odisha Chief Secretary.

According to the report, the state accords frontline workers status to railway staff, forest officials, forest guards. Banking staff, insurance companies, ATM maintenance personnel and others will also be treated as frontline workers for vaccination.

However, DCPU, childline, employees of oxygen plants and fuel filling station and call center also included in the frontline category. Government veterinary doctors, livestock Inspectors, para veterinarians will also get vaccinated as frontline workers.

As per the decision taken by the government, priority will be given to Dose-2 vaccination of due beneficiaries and above categories once adequate vaccine supply is available. Earlier, Journalists in the state were accorded frontline status for vaccination purposes.
