Tata Sons wins the bid for debt-laden state-run airline Air India, Bloomberg News reported. The government has accepted the conglomerate’s proposal to take over the airline, the report said.
Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, commerce minister Piyush Goyal and aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were among the members of the committee that evaluated the bids.
Air India’s reserve price is said to be in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000, according to reports.
